Train fault causes delays on North-South line during morning rush

Commuters on the North-South Line reported long delays in their journeys on Monday morning after a train fault was reported.

In a post on its Facebook page, SMRT said it had been informed of a train service delay on a southbound train from Sembawang to Marina Bay MRT stations at 8:18am.

The transport operator later said that passengers on the faulty train had alighted at Ang Mo Kio station at 9:14am.

By 9:43am, SMRT said that all train services between Sembawang and Marina Bay stations had resumed, and that free bus and shuttle services had ceased.
